Chadbourn, NC

Mrs. Vera Lee McPherson, age 93, of Chadbourn, NC, died Monday, July 18, 2016 in her home.  Born January 14, 1923, in Columbus County, she was the daughter of the late Porter McPherson and Ella Cribb McPherson and the widow of Roy McPherson.

She is survived by three sons, Jack McPherson of Chadbourn, Ted McPherson (Clara) of Chadbourn, Ned McPherson of Clarendon; three daughters, Margie Godwin of Chadbourn, Judy Mehalic (Tom) of Chadbourn, Pat Long (Terry) of Chadbourn; one sister, Rachel Lang of Cary, NC; twelve grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by, one son, Tim McPherson; three brothers, Phillip McPherson, Leon McPherson, Carson McPherson, and two sisters, Rebecca Cartret and Bessie McPherson.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 19, 2016 from 6 PM to 8 PM in the Beaverdam Original Freewill Baptist Church, Chadbourn, NC.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at 2 PM in the Beaverdam Original Freewill Baptist Church, Chadbourn, NC.  Burial will follow in the McPherson Cemetery, Chadbourn, NC.
