Green Sea, SC
Sara Jernigan Ward, 75, of Green Sea, SC, died peacefully Tuesday, April 26, 2022, in McLeod Loris Hospital, Loris, SC. She was the daughter of the late James Carson Jernigan and Kathleen Ray Jernigan.
She is survived by her husband, Elroy Ward of Green Sea; two sons, Michael Ward (April) of Green Sea and Mitchell D. Ward (Kim) of Whiteville, NC; two brothers; Robert Jernigan of Conway, SC, Tony Jernigan (Terri) of Murrells Inlet, SC; one sister, Hilda Ward (Lonnie) of Tabor City, NC; grandchildren, Caleb Paul Ward, Caitlyn Elizabeth Ward, Koven Mitchell Ward, Alexis Rose Ward, Crystal Hester (Glenn), Brianna Hester, Christian Kane Lanier, Riley Savanna Lanier, Olivia Gabrielle Lanier; and one great grandchild.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth Jernigan.
The family would to like give a special thanks to her caretaker, Barbara Dixon and home nurse, Ashley Simmons, and all of the nurses of the ICU of McLeod Loris Hospital for all the special care and attention given during this time.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 28, 2022 at 3:00 PM in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow in the Carolina Cemetery, Green Sea, SC. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to service in the chapel.
