Russell David Wright

Russell David Wright, age 72, of Tabor City, NC, died Monday, January 31, 2022 in his home surrounded by his beloved family.  Born August 31, 1949 in New Hanover County, NC, he was the son of the late Willard Cannon Wright and Alice Shelley Wright.

He was a member of the Tabor City Baptist Church.  He graduated from Tabor City High School in 1967 and continued his education at Wake Forest University from 1967 to 1970.  He then attended the University of North Carolina from 1970 to 1973 where he received his Pharmaceutical Science degree.

He is survived by his wife, Jamie Wright of the home; daughter, Wendy Hilburn and husband Jason and their children, Cara and Sydney of Little River, SC; daughter, Kelli Kuzdrall and husband Matthew and their children, Alison and Lillian of Longs, SC; step son, Ray Boren, his fiancé, Brandee, and his children, Elizabeth, Nathan and Emma of Lumberton, NC; step son, Chris Boren and wife Rachel and their children, Jackson and Harper of Whiteville, NC; a dear young man, Tomas Acosta, whom he loved as a son; brother, Henry Neill Wright and wife, Joyce of Smithfield, NC; brother, Alan Shelley Wright and wife Roxanne of North Myrtle Beach, SC.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 2, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Inman Ward Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 3, 2022 at 2:00 PM in the Tabor City Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in the Myrtle Green Cemetery.
