Tabor City, NC

Mr. Roy Norris, age 62, died Wednesday July 27, 2016, in his home. Born November 6, 1953 in Horry County, SC, he was the son of the late Shelton Norris and Moulcie Cribb Norris.

He is survived by his wife: Pat K. Norris of Tabor City, NC; one son: Quentin Norris of Tabor City, NC; one daughter: Rachel Ransom (Duran) of Clarkton, NC; two brothers: Floyd Norris of Tabor City, NC, Russell Norris of Whiteville, NC; three sisters: Katie Rowell of Loris, SC, Sadie Trawick of Helena, AL, Janie Gaskins of Tabor City, NC; five grandchildren: Megan Cox, Brooke Norris, Bryan Norris, Sarah Dudney, Jamielynn Godwin; one great grandchild: Preston Norris.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother: Lloyd Norris.

Mr. Norris served in Law Enforcement for thirty three years. He retired as Chief of the Tabor City Police Department.  He also attended the FBI Academy. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Liberty Hospice, 44 McNeill Plaza, Whiteville, NC 28472.

Visitation will be held Friday, July 29, 2016 from 7 PM to 9 PM in the Inman Ward Funeral Home of Tabor City.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 11 AM in the Carolina Baptist Church, Green Sea, SC.  Burial will follow in the Carolina Baptist Church Cemetery.
