Robert Allen Lowery, a true Christian soldier for the Lord, age 70, of Bobbie’s Way in Whiteville, NC, passed in peace at home Thursday afternoon.  He drew his last earthly breath surrounded by his wife and children and went home to join his heavenly father June 23, 2016.  A loving devoted husband.  In death he leaves behind his wife Barbara K. Lowery, dear friend and life companion of 52 years.  A dedicated father and friend to his children in parting he leaves behind four living children; Gary A. Lowery of Whiteville, NC, Teresa L. Smith and spouse (Dean) of Supply, NC, Kristi L. Ritenour and spouse (Steven) of Whiteville, NC, and Ginger L. Lawrimore and spouse (Stephen) of Conway, SC.  He is also survived by eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Ronnie D. Lowery and spouse (Wanda) of Whiteville NC, and sister Doris Davis of Nakina.  Robert was born to Mr. and Mrs. James Craven Lowery of Ash, NC.  A self made man, and jack of all trades, Robert was an entrepreneur at heart.  In his lifetime he worked as a mechanic, a dredge boat marine welder, worked in marine construction, he owned and operated his own welding business and logging company.  Always providing for his family, he was truly loved and adored by his family and friends.  He touched the lives of so many and showed his personal testimony of Christ with all he came in contact with.  Robert dedicated his heart and life to Christ in 1976.  He was a member and superintendent of Fellowship Baptist Church.  Weeks before his death he commented to his children and wife as they gathered around the family table, “I have been so blessed and it is well with my soul.”  He was loved by so many and will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held Saturday, June 25, 2016 from 6 PM to 8 PM in the Inman Ward Funeral Home of Tabor City.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 26, 2016 at 3 PM in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel, Tabor City.  Burial will follow in the Inman Cemetery, Ash, NC.
