Pete Ray Buffkin, 63, passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2022, in Myrtle Beach. He was born September 20, 1958, in Loris, a son of Betty Smith Simmons and the late Carl Simmons.
Pete was a U.S. Navy veteran and a former Tabor City EMT.
He is survived by his mother, Betty Smith Simmons of Chadbourn; two sons, Jerrode Cartret and Shawn Buffkin, both of Chadbourn; two daughters, Chelsey Buffkin and Stacie Buffkin, both of Chadbourn; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Simmons; one brother, Ryan Buffkin.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, July 29, 2022, in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Joseph Cartrette officiating. Burial will follow in Cartret Cemetery, Chadbourn, NC. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service in the chapel.
