Mrs. Penny Lodosca (Dot) Powell Ray, age 79, of Live Oak St., Tabor City, died Tuesday, November 15, 2016, in the McLeod Loris Hospital. Born January 21, 1937 in Marion County, SC, she was the daughter of the late James Gurthie and Frances Geverna Fullwood Powell.

She is survived by her husband: Joe Ray of Tabor City; two sons: Joseph L. Ray (Karen) of North Myrtle Beach, SC, Dr. Tracy P. Ray (Tracy B.) of Loris, SC; one brother: Merlin M. Powell of Rock Hill, SC: two sisters: June Beasley of Winnabow, NC, Sandra Powell Childers of Summerville, SC; six grandchildren: Alex, Alston, Jaclyn, McKinley, Bryant Ray and Brianna Hewett.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter: Penni Ray Stocks; one sister: Doris Powell Boyd.

Mrs. Ray was a retired school teacher with Horry County Public Schools.

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 18, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the Tabor City Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Myrtle Green Cemetery, Tabor City, NC.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the Tabor City Baptist Church.
