Lucille Long

Nakina, NC

Lucille Long, age 74, of Nakina, NC, died Friday, February 12, 2021 in her home.  Born August 25, 1946 in Robeson County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Norman Whaley and Pearl Ward Whaley.

She was a member of Happy Home Missionary Baptist Church, Nakina, NC.

She is survived by one daughter: Renee Long of Nakina, NC; two sisters: Norma Suggs of Southport, NC and Teresa Register of Whiteville, NC; seven nieces and three nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Frank Whaley and Gene Whaley; and one nephew: David Whaley.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at 2:00 PM in the Happy Home Missionary Baptist Church, Nakina, NC.  Burial will follow in the Reaves Family Cemetery, 1038 Poley Bridge Church Rd, Nakina, NC.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Center, 206 Warrior Trail, Whiteville, NC 28472.
