Junior Godwin, age 90, of Chadbourn, died Sunday, April 26, 2020 in his home.  Born February 9, 1930 in Columbus County, NC, he was the son of the late Arthur Milton Godwin Sr. and Helen Duncan Godwin.

He is survived by four daughters: Helen G. Guzman of Moncks Corner, SC, Nancy G. Bullard of Chadbourn, NC, Donna G. McPherson of Chadbourn, NC and Tina G. St. George of Rincon, GA; nine grandchildren: Teddy Bullard II, Joshua McPherson, Jason McPherson, Sarah G. Shelley, Matthew Bullard, Evan Bullard, Angelina Guzman, Chelsey Hiatt and Ally St. George; fourteen great grandchildren: Caitlyn McPherson, Chesney McPherson, Kaia Bullard, Jackson Austin, Jillian Austin, Mason McPherson, Lorelei Bullard, Maddie McPherson, Daniel Shelley, Sofia Shelley, Ford Hiatt, Aria Shuman, Abel Hiatt, and Aurora Underwood; and many special nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one granddaughter: Abigail Guzman; and two great granddaughters: Kinslee Hiatt and Alivia Hiatt; six sisters: Essie Cartrette, Myrtle Todd, Ruby Colton, Pauline Blackmon, Alene McPherson and Sadie Chandler; and five brothers: Auty Godwin, Joseph Godwin, J.W. Godwin, Arthur M. Godwin Jr. and Bob Godwin.

He was a mason and a member of Chadbourn Lodge 190.

A graveside service with Masonic Rites will be held Tuesday, April 28, 2020 at 3:00 PM in the McPherson Cemetery, Chadbourn, NC.

The service will be live steamed on Inman Ward Funeral Home’s Facebook page.
