John Robert Curry, age 74, of Whiteville, NC, died Tuesday, November 24, 2020 in his home. Born December 3, 1945 in New Hanover County, NC, he was the son of the late Gilbert Curry, Sr. and Tina Mae Carter Curry Mintz.

He was a Veteran of the United States Army.

He is survived by; three daughters: Gina Curry Walters and her husband Coty of Lumberton, NC, Valerie Curry Owen and her husband David of Four Oaks, NC and Candace Jones of Wilmington, NC,; one brother: Sidney Curry of West Point, UT; two half-sister: Julia Campbell of Oxford, AL and Tina Albertson of Anniston, AL; six grandchildren: Karly Edwards, Evan Edwards, Claire Owen, Lance Owen, Nick Jones, and Sophia Jones.

He is also survived by his longtime companion: Patricia Leonard Hinson; her children: Tonya Hinson of Whiteville, NC and Rhonda Hinson of Conway, SC.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother: Gilbert Curry, Jr. and two sisters: Jackie Taylor and Ervil Reemsnyder.

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 27, 2020 at 2 PM in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Whiteville Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the chapel.

 In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 206 Warrior Trail, Whiteville, NC 28472.
