Mr. John Olan “Johnny Blaze” Burr, Sr., age 40, died Saturday, January 21, 2017 in his home.  Born October 5, 1976 in Camden, SC, he was the son of William B. Burr of Blackshear, GA and Grace Camille Burney of Whiteville.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife: Debra Cartrette Burr of the home; three sons: Justin Cade Hinson, John Olan Burr, Jr., Ethan Burr, all of the home; four brothers: Matthew Burney of Whiteville, Marshall Vann Griffin of Whiteville, Dan “Buddy” Griffin of Indiana, Jeremy Griffin of Whiteville; three sisters: Janelle B. Tanner of Winnsboro, SC, Victoria “Tori” Burr of Aiken, SC, Nancy Griffin of Whiteville; grandparents: Gethro and Grace Batten Burney of Whiteville.

He was predeceased by grandparents: William J. and Elsie Williams Burr.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 25, 2017 from 6 PM to 8 PM in the Inman Ward Funeral Home of Tabor City.  

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 26, 2017 at 2 PM in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow in the McPherson Cemetery, Chadbourn, NC.
