Jerry Dwillard Small, age 81, of Tabor City, NC, died Saturday, January 7, 2023, in his home. Born July 14, 1941, in Marion County, SC, he was the son of Coleman Small and Velma Spivey Small, and the widower of Dixie Jernigan Small.
Jerry worked in the textile industry for many years and was a veteran of the US Army and National Guard.
He is survived by one son, Jerry Dean Small (Lisa) of Tabor City, NC; one daughter, Vicki Jernigan (Roger) of Green Sea, SC; four grandchildren Dixie Bissonnette (Matt), Ashley Grainger (Chad), Cole Small (Lexi), and Matthew Jernigan (Holly); and nine great grandchildren, Sawyer, Phoenix, Memphis, Bentley, Cecilee, Brynlee, Amberlen, Shiloh, and River; two brothers, Tommy Small of Tabor City, NC and Frank Small of Trinity, NC; and one sister, Ruby Rush of Trinity, NC.
He was predeceased by one grandson, Ethan Zane Small; one brother, Halford Small; and three sisters, Alice Small, Shirley Ray, and Reba Warren.
Funeral arrangements will be private.
