Hobie Don Wood, age 83, of Tabor City, NC died Sunday, January 3, 2021 in the Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, SC. Born October 2, 1937 in Senath, MO, he was the son of the late Hobie J. Wood and Wilma Rich Wood.
He was a Veteran of the United States Army.
He is survived by his wife: Patsy Faye Nealey Wood of the home; four daughters: Donna Sue Segars and husband Glenn of Hartwell, GA, Tamela Crane and husband Glen of Thomasville, NC, Darlene Redding and husband Reggie of Denton, NC and Melinda Chambers and husband Scott of North Charleston, SC; one son: Kevin Wood of Cardwell, MO; one brother: Charles Wood and wife Charlotte of Memphis, TN; thirteen grandchildren and twenty four great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son: Hobie Don Wood, Jr.
A private graveside service will be held Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 2 PM in the Forest Lawn Cemetery. CDC guidelines will be followed for the protection of the family and others. All attendees are required to wear a mask.
