Hilda Ann Hardee Obituary

Loris, SC

Hilda Ann Hardee passed away peacefully, March 27, 2020 at home in Loris at the age of 83, while under hospice care. The town of Tabor City has lost an icon. Ann was born June 7, 1936 to the late Gorham Hardee and Addie Leah Cox Hardee of the Oak Dale community. Ann was an active member of Oak Dale Baptist Church and a loving, caring and gentle woman who was an exemplary Christian. Through the years Ann has served as Sunday School Teacher, Secretary, Treasurer, and many other positions. Ann was unique. She was a kind and loving person, always helping others, especially listening and helping with their clothing selections.

Ann was owner of Ann’s Fashion Clothing Store in Tabor City for over thirty years. She never missed a day’s work. Prior to working for herself, Ann first started her career at Ruey’s Clothing store in 1955. Her work tenure lasted over 63 years.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Gorham and Addie Lee Cox Hardee, a brother, Billy Jack Hardee and sister, Jewell Gore. She is survived by three sisters, Verlyn Causey of Nichols, Aundrea Reyes of Loris, and Sylvia Kaye (Jimmy) Hardwick of Conway, and many nieces and nephews.

Due to the Coronavirus Pandemic and CDC regulations, the family will have a private funeral service with final committal resting place at Twin City Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. A memorial celebrating Ann’s incredible life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oak Dale Baptist Church, 1695 Oakdale Rd., Loris, SC 29569 or to Alzheimer’s Association, 1105 48th Ave. North, Ste. 109, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577. They may also call 843-213-1516 for instructions.
