Frances Ann (Hawes) Benton

Nakina, NC

Frances Ann Hawes Benton, age 83, died Thursday, April 9, 2020 in the Grand Strand Regional Medical Center, Myrtle Beach, SC.  Born March 12, 1937 in Columbus County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Julius Neal Hawes and Lucy Lympus Faulk Hawes and the widow of Norman Cordis Benton.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and caretaker of many.  She was a member of Bethesda Fellowship Church in Nakina, NC.  She retired from National Spinning after over 50 years of employment as an inspector and lab tech.

She is survived by two daughters: Gloria Benton Fowler (Larry) of Nakina, NC and Lynne Benton Bryant (Lloyd) of Nakina, NC; four grandchildren: Rocky Bryant (Anya), Tracy Bryant (Tracy), Angel Fowler Korros (Ryan) and Larramie Fowler (Summer); seven great grandchildren: Wesley, Roxanna, McKinley, Bryant, Braylon, Rylan and Jack; and one step grandchild: Jaclyn Ray.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother: Hilbert H. Hawes; and one infant sister: Dula Gray Hawes.

Drop-in viewing  will be held Friday, April 10, 2020 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM in the Inman Ward Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, April 11, 2020 at 2:00 PM in the Gore Community Cemetery. Rev. Ken Sides will be officiating.

Pallbearers: Rocky Bryant, Wesley Bryant, Tracy Ray, Larramie Fowler, Ryan Korros and Kevin Hawes.
