Ernest Wayne Hendrix

Ernest Wayne Hendrix, age 72, of Tabor City, NC died Tuesday, September 21, 2021 in his home.  Born July 1, 1949 in Rock Hill, SC, he was the son of the late Ernest William Hendrix and Marie Fowler Hendrix Stephens.

He was a Veteran of the United States Army.  He was also a member of Cherry Grove Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher and Brotherhood Director.

He is survived by his wife: Shirley Faulk Hendrix of the home; one daughter: Kia Hendrix Countess and husband Jon of Walhalla, SC; one brother: Randy Hendrix and wife Sheila of Tabor City, NC; two grandsons: Jon Rix Countess and Robert Joel “RJ” Countess.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 22, 2021 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Inman Ward Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 23, 2021 at 11:00 AM in the Cherry Grove Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in the Cherry Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donation may be made to ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
