Eloise Register Haws

Eloise Haws passed away with her family by her side.  She was the youngest daughter of three, of Frank and Florie Long.  She grew up in the Nakina, North Carolina, just south east of Tabor City, N.C.

She met and married her school days sweetheart, Veston Haws. They were married in Conway, SC. Veston join the USAF and served 20 years upon retiring and they eventually settled in Conway SC. They had 3 children Gary, David and Angela. Eloise was a great home maker and loving mother. She enjoyed making crafts, cooking and growing flowers. She always had a Bible nearby.

Before moving to Conway, S.C. after Veston retired from the Air Force, she attended Cannon College of Cosmetology in Richmond, Va. while Veston attended barber school. She owned and operated Eloise’ Beauty Salon in North Conway for many years before retiring. Veston died unexpectedly in 1973, Eloise never remarried and desired no one else.

She is survived by her son, Gary Hawes, and his wife Terry. A daughter; Angela Haws Skipper of Conway. She leaves behind several grandchildren, Ashley Riker of Surfside Beach, Randal E. Jackson, Jr. of Raleigh, N.C., Cindy R. Hawes of Clinton N.C., Mellissa Nix of Columbia, SC and many great grandchildren Katelyn, Mason, Jase and Madison; Clara Wynn and Austin Wynn.

A memorial service will be held in the Garden City Baptist Church on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at 11:00AM.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Garden City Deacon Fund 501 Pine Ave. Murrells Inlet, SC 29576.
