Bonnie Lanier, age 76, of Clarendon, NC, died Sunday, June 14, 2020 in the Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Center of Whiteville. Born July 13, 1943 in Columbus County, NC, she was the daughter of the late William Golespie Norris and Hettie Strickland Norris.
She is survived by her husband: Thurman Odell Lanier of Clarendon, NC; two sons: Chad Lanier and wife Heather of Wilmington, NC and Chris Lanier and wife Traci of Wilmington, NC; one brother: Rudolph Norris of Columbia, SC; four sisters: Ruthene Barefoot of Wilmington, NC, Ruby Smith of Fairmont, NC, Martha Davis of Winston Salem, NC and Mary Parker of Tabor City, NC; and two grandchildren: Logan Lanier and Lucas Lanier.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers: Isaac Norris, Joe Norris and Royce Norris.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 18, 2020 at 3:00 PM in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Cribbtown Cemetery.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the chapel.
Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, social distancing will be observed and the family encourages all attendees to wear a mask.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Welcome Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, 3104 Old Cribbtown Rd., Chadbourn, NC 28431.
